Job Opportunity: Anatomical Pathologist at Awanui, New Zealand

About the Role: As an Anatomical Pathologist at Awanui, you will collaborate with the Medical Director and the pathology team to provide exceptional service to referring practitioners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Specimen Reporting: Accurately report on patient specimens, ensuring timely results for clinicians.
  • Turnaround Time: Validate >90% of cases within 48 hours; prioritize urgent cases.
  • Frozen Section Reporting: Provide timely services to requesting clinicians.
  • Multi-Disciplinary Meetings: Participate in MDMs as directed.
  • Clinician Relationships: Maintain and enhance satisfaction through superior service.
  • Professionalism: Uphold the reputation of Awanui Laboratories and ensure patient confidentiality.
  • Education: Engage in CPDP and CME programs, and provide continuing education to clinicians and trainees.

About You: Key Attributes Required:

  • Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia or equivalent qualification recognized by the New Zealand Medical Council.
  • Hold a prescribed qualification for registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand in the Provisional General Scope of Practice.
  • Vocational Registration as a Specialist Pathologist with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
  • Disciplined, self-motivated, and committed to high-quality service.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively.
  • Effective time management and communication skills.
