Job Description:

Reporting to the Director of Business Process, this position is responsible for three main areas: Business Analysis, Process Improvement, and Continuous Improvement.

Business Analysis involves working through all stages of projects. This includes understanding and managing business and stakeholder needs, defining the project scope, mapping current and future processes, and helping to buy technical systems and software.

Process Improvement focuses on using continuous improvement methods to study, document, and improve business processes. This leads to simpler, more efficient, and standardized workflows across the organization. The role involves working closely with managers, staff, and faculty to create various deliverables such as reasons for change, understanding and measuring the current state, vision for the future, process standardization, options for restructuring, and redesigning business processes. These processes will affect multiple departments and impact staff, faculty, and students.

Continuous Improvement aims to help Sask Polytech’s management, staff, and faculty to carry out their own improvement projects. This includes developing and promoting resources and offering skill development workshops.

Qualifications:

  • A relevant diploma (e.g., Business, Information Technology, Engineering, etc.). Equivalent combinations of education and experience will also be considered.
  • Five years of experience in service and process improvement in a client-focused workplace.
  • Experience facilitating groups both in person and online.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, with the ability to work well with others and take initiative.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to build and maintain productive relationships.
  • Experience working in diverse and inclusive environments.
