Job Overview
The Senior Electrical Engineer will lead the design, delivery, and coordination of electrical engineering solutions across UK-based projects, ensuring compliance with British Standards, statutory regulations, and client requirements. The role provides technical leadership and supports projects from concept through to completion.
Key Responsibilities
Lead electrical design for power distribution, lighting, earthing, fire alarm, and control systems
Produce and review technical drawings, specifications, and calculations
Ensure compliance with BS, IEC, IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671), and UK statutory requirements
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, contractors, and external consultants
Undertake site inspections, commissioning, and technical assessments
Review contractor designs, method statements, and as-built documentation
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior and associate engineers
Support project planning, risk management, and quality assurance
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
Working toward or holding Chartered Engineer (CEng) status via IET or equivalent
7–10+ years’ experience in electrical engineering within the UK or comparable markets
Key Skills
Electrical design software (AutoCAD, Revit, Amtech, Dialux, ETAP, etc.)
Strong knowledge of UK electrical standards and regulations
Leadership, problem-solving, and technical decision-making skills
