Role Purpose: The primary role of this position is to maintain, repair, and optimize machines and associated devices to ensure machine availability and product quality at minimal cost while upholding standards.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in maintenance planning meetings, providing input and clarifying work requirements.
  • Execute maintenance tasks during planned, routine, and opportunity maintenance windows as per the schedule issued by the Maintenance Planner.
  • Provide feedback to the Maintenance Planner if scheduled work cannot be completed, to prioritize outstanding tasks or reschedule work.
  • Assist team members during planned maintenance activities.
  • Complete administrative tasks related to planned maintenance using COSWIN.
  • Participate in post-mortems to provide feedback and insights from maintenance activities.
  • Perform Autonomous Operations as required.
  • Conduct cleaning, lubrication, and inspections according to the maintenance schedule.
  • Resolve problems using appropriate problem-solving techniques.
  • Carry out routine maintenance activities based on the schedule and address any issues uncovered.
  • Verify and document running repairs; escalate unresolved issues to the Maintenance Planner.
  • Assist team members with problem resolution and participate in AB reports as a functional expert.
  • Call in additional resources or escalate issues to the Engineering Controller when necessary.
  • Analyze machine performance, conduct loss and waste analysis, and develop action plans for improvement.
  • Provide specialized support to shift-based teams during operations, including standby and day shift support.
  • Offer guidance and advice to shift-based teams on machine operation, fault finding, and responses to machine failure modes.
  • Coach, mentor, and transfer knowledge of machine operation to shift-based teams as needed.
  • Assess Operators and Artisans’ abilities to perform tasks effectively.
  • Participate in regional and central office plant optimization trials.
  • Operate safely, identify and report unsafe practices, and ensure compliance with work instructions and maintenance procedures.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards and apply 5S principles during duties.

Profile:

  • Education: Advanced certificate/diploma in Electrical/Instrumentation Engineering.
  • 2-3 years of experience as a process operator will be advantageous.
  • Computer literate and comfortable working shifts, including public holidays.
