About Wooden Hearts
Wooden Hearts is a Canadian custom furniture and design company creating high-quality, made-to-order pieces for both commercial and residential clients. The company works with hospitality groups, franchises, developers, construction firms, offices, and private clients; delivering everything from single custom pieces to large-scale commercial orders.
As Wooden Hearts continues to grow, the company is building a dedicated outbound and sales support function to expand its B2B business.
About the Role
Wooden Hearts is hiring a Business Development Representative (BDR) to support lead generation, outbound outreach, and sales operations. This is a full-time, long-term role working directly with the founder and general manager.
The primary focus is B2B outbound sales; identifying opportunities, initiating conversations, qualifying leads, and handing off warm opportunities. Over time, the role may expand to include CRM ownership, light sales operations, and basic marketing support.
Experience in construction, design, manufacturing, or related industries is preferred but not required. Training will be provided.
Primary Responsibilities
· Research and identify B2B opportunities (franchises, hospitality groups, construction firms, developers, office buyers)
· Conduct outbound outreach via:
o Email
o LinkedIn
o Cold calling
· Qualify inbound and outbound leads and identify decision-makers
· Hand off qualified opportunities to the founder or general manager
· Track outreach activity, responses, and pipeline stages in the CRM
· Provide daily activity summaries (emails sent, calls made, responses, handoffs, next steps)
· Use outreach and lead tools to improve efficiency and consistency
Preferred Skills
· Strong working knowledge of LinkedIn & Sales Navigator
· Familiarity with Meet Alfred or similar outbound automation tools
· Ability to learn and use ConstructConnect or other construction/design lead platforms
· Experience setting up and managing CRM software
· Fluent in Microsoft Office (especially Excel, Word, Outlook)
· Comfortable and confident with email outreach and cold calling
Bonus Skills (Nice to Have)
· Experience using Canva or Photoshop
· Ability to help manage social media:
o Posting content
o Basic photo support
o Engagement and replies
