Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Director of Cardiovascular Services to provide strategic and operational leadership for a comprehensive Cardiovascular Service Line. This role oversees cardiac catheterization services, vascular care programs, and multidisciplinary clinical teams delivering high-quality, patient-centered cardiovascular care.
The Cardiovascular Services department includes a two-bay Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory performing approximately 1,200 cardiology and vascular procedures annually, with 24/7 STEMI coverage. Services include catheter-based interventions, peripheral vascular care, vein care, wound care, and coordinated medical and surgical management.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the accountable leader for all aspects of Cardiovascular Services
Develop, implement, and monitor a comprehensive strategic plan across ambulatory, acute, post-acute, and community care settings
Drive continuous improvement in clinical outcomes, cost of care, and patient satisfaction
Design, implement, and evaluate new programs to improve quality, efficiency, and access to care
Partner with quality and compliance leadership to ensure accreditation standards and patient safety goals are met
Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and hospital leadership to enhance care coordination and service delivery
Ensure financial performance and operational efficiency of the Cardiovascular Service Line
Recruit, mentor, and develop nursing and clinical staff, fostering a culture of teamwork and accountability
Oversee staff education, competency validation, and adherence to clinical and safety standards
Support provider and staff engagement, retention, and professional development
Demonstrate strong, values-driven leadership with a focus on patient-centered outcomes
Maintain reliable attendance and perform additional duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing BSN required
- Current West Virginia RN license or eligible for licensure
- 5 to 7 years of progressive leadership experience in Cardiovascular Services
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and collaborate effectively with physicians and anesthesia providers
- BLS and ACLS certification required or must be obtained within a defined timeframe
- Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in strategic planning and service line development
- Strong understanding of unit-level financial performance and budgeting
- Demonstrated success in recruiting, retaining, and engaging clinical teams
- Experience driving continuous improvement in outcomes, cost of care, and patient satisfaction
