JOB DESCRIPTION

Tolerance Masters LLC is a precision machine shop located in Circle Pines, MN.  We specialize in the manufacturing of close tolerance flight safety and critical performance machined parts and sub-assemblies.

We are seeking a buyer to join our team.  The buyer will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, components, and services needed to support the production of aerospace products.  This role requires a strong understanding of supply chain management, as well as the ability to manage vendor relationships, maintain inventory control, and ensure cost-effective procurement while adhering to quality standards and regulatory requirements.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Source and purchase raw materials (e.g., metals, fasteners, tooling), machined parts, and MRO items based on production schedules and inventory levels
• Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships.  Evaluate vendor performance, lead times, pricing, and quality compliance
• Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers to ensure cost-effective purchasing while maintaining quality and delivery standards
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with inventory control and production to ensure timely replenishment of stock
• Issue, track, and expedite purchase orders.  Resolve discrepancies in orders. Resolve discrepancies in orders, deliveries, and invoices
• Work closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to align procurement activities with project timelines and specifications
• maintain accurate procurement records and ensure all purchasing activities comply with company policies and quality standards

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Associate or Bachelors degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field
• 2+years of buying or procurement experience in a manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of CNC machining processes and materials (e.g., aluminum, stainless steel, tooling, etc.)
• Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience with ISO 9110 or AS9100 quality standards
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing or just-in-time (JIT) procurement
• Experience with vendor sourcing and global supply chain strategies
• Hands-on experience with MRP/ERP systems (SAP, JobBOSS, Oracle, etc.)
