As part of our engineering team, you will contribute to the design and development of reliable backend systems that support complex workflow orchestration and integrations.
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Backend Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to build reliable, secure, and high-performing systems deployed on cloud infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
Backend Development
Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs using Scala and Python
Develop and optimize workflow orchestration systems involving database operations
Integrate third-party APIs and external services
Ensure backend systems are scalable, secure, and performant
Cloud & Infrastructure
Deploy, monitor, and maintain applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
Use GCP services to improve application performance and scalability
Implement cloud-based data storage and processing solutions
Collaboration & Documentation
Work with product, frontend, and engineering teams to deliver new features
Participate in code reviews and technical discussions
Maintain clear documentation for code, systems, and processes
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
Minimum 4 years of experience with Scala
Strong experience with RESTful API development (4+ years)
Proficiency in Python (3+ years)
Experience with Docker and containerized applications (2+ years)
Experience working with cloud platforms, preferably GCP
Solid problem-solving and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
Familiarity with workflow management systems
Knowledge of AI-related APIs or systems
Experience with version control systems such as Git
