Job Title: Packaging Specialist – Second Shift
Location: Fall River, MA
Salary Range: $72,800 – $93,600 per year
Job Type: Full-Time
Shift: Second Shift | 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM (may vary based on business needs)

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Packaging Specialist to support and coordinate pharmaceutical packaging operations during the second shift at a regulated manufacturing facility in Fall River, MA. This role is critical in ensuring packaging activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with cGMP, FDA, and internal quality standards. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on packaging experience, familiarity with SAP systems, and exposure to pharmaceutical MDI or inhalation products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in coordinating daily packaging activities to meet production schedules
  • Monitor packaging processes to ensure compliance with cGMP, FDA, and internal quality standards
  • Ensure accurate completion of batch records, logs, deviations, and documentation
  • Monitor production schedules to support timely execution and minimize delays
  • Assist in investigations related to deviations, non-conformances, and CAPAs
  • Work closely with Quality Assurance to ensure adherence to SOPs
  • Coordinate materials, equipment, and workforce for optimal resource utilization
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, waste reduction, and efficiency gains
  • Support implementation of new technologies and automation initiatives
  • Collaborate with Quality, Supply Chain, Engineering, Project Management, and R&D teams
  • Support training activities and ensure clear communication of SOPs
  • Monitor operational metrics including efficiency, compliance, and resource utilization
  • Support productivity improvement initiatives through data analysis and performance reviews
  • Create and manage purchase requisitions in SAP for services, equipment, and consumables
  • Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders
  • Follow all safety, health, environmental, and company policies
  • Participate in safety programs and ensure a clean and safe work environment
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management

    Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Electrical, Mechanical, Production, or related field
  • 5 to 11 years of experience in packaging, operations, or team management
  • Strong understanding of cGMP, FDA regulations, and pharmaceutical packaging processes
  • Experience with SAP systems and packaging data analysis tools
  • Experience writing, revising, and maintaining cGMP documentation and SOPs
  • Knowledge of quality systems and regulatory compliance
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team
  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and sense of urgency
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience supporting regulatory and compliance audits

    Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with inhalation products or Metered Dose Inhaler (MDI) packaging
  • Experience in highly regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environments

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods
  • Ability to reach with hands and arms and use fingers for handling tasks
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds when required
  • Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
